On Saturday 26 April, parents from all over Melbourne (and further afield!) gathered at Bayswater West Primary School to take part in the annual Great Cloth Diaper Change.
The Great Cloth Diaper Change is a non-profit official World Record attempt involving thousands of babies being changed into cloth nappies in over 300 locations across 20 countries on the same day. It's a way to raise awareness of cloth nappies. connect with other cloth nappy users, and have some fun at the same time.
There were six Great Cloth Diaper Change events held in Australia, with the Melbourne event being hosted in Bayswater by us: Catherine & Fiona from Darlings Downunder.
Evidence from all the qualifying events around the world has been submitted to Guinness World Records & we are waiting for their verification of the numbers. Indications are that a new World Record was set on Saturday, but we have to wait and see!
It was a great day, and we want to thank all the parents who made the effort to come along, Naurelle from Tots and Toddlers who was a brilliant helper on the day, Brittany Chard who was our official Guinness photographer, and our official Guinness witnesses the Hon Heidi Victoria MP and Keith Swann. And we can't forget our generous sponsors who provided door prizes and items for the goody bags for the participants.
